EC 75 Introduction to protein structure; secondary, tertiary and quaternary structures; expression and purification of recombinant proteins for structure determination; basics of X-ray crystallography, space groups, diffraction basics, phasing techniques, validation and Ramachandran plot; cryoelectron microscopy, freezing and imaging techniques, model building; small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), application to protein samples; NMR, chemical shifts, common NMR experiments, assignment, validation; advantages and disadvantages of each technique, types of applications.
