The Physics Society (PhySoc) at IIT Delhi is a vibrant organization dedicated to fostering a love for physics through various academic and cultural activities. With a focus on community engagement, the society organizes events that blend education with entertainment, encouraging students to explore the wonders of physics in innovative ways.
Activities
- Regular workshops and sessions are held to help students with academic projects, such as the "BTP Unlocked" initiative aimed at guiding BTech students through their projects.
- The society hosts film screenings, like the mind-bending movie "Predestination," which challenges attendees to think critically about time and reality.
- Creative competitions, including the Photo-Story & Short Film Competition, provide platforms for students to express their ideas visually.
- PhySoc organizes informal gatherings like "PhD Connect" for research scholars to network and share experiences.
Flagship Events
- Resonance 2026: The annual fest featuring a mix of academic, cultural, and sports events, running from March 21–29, 2026.
- Spectrum of Talent: A celebration of artistic expression, including music, dance, and poetry, scheduled for March 29, 2026.
- Indo-Italian Workshop in Physics: A collaborative workshop focusing on various physics topics, held from February 26–28, 2026.
- HORIZON: Physics for a Sustainable Future: A case-study challenge at TRYST’26, promoting innovative solutions in sustainability.
Collaborations
PhySoc collaborates with the Department of Physics at IIT Delhi and external organizations, such as the Embassy of Italy, to enhance educational opportunities and foster international scientific dialogue.
