Scholarships

IIT Delhi offers a range of scholarships and financial assistance programmes for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students. These are funded by the Government of India, the institute, alumni, and corporate donors.

Government Scholarships

Institute and Alumni Scholarships

  • Director's Merit Award: Recognises students with outstanding academic performance.
  • Endowment-funded scholarships: Various named scholarships funded by alumni and corporate donors, administered through the IIT Delhi Endowment Fund.
  • Need-based financial aid: The Board of Student Welfare (BSW) assists students facing financial difficulties with emergency grants and fee deferment.

  • OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship

How to Apply

  • Government scholarships: Apply through the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) or through the Academic Section.
  • Institute scholarships: Applications are typically announced at the start of each academic year via the Student Affairs office.
  • External scholarships: Apply directly to the sponsoring organisation; the Academic Section provides required institute endorsements.
