SpV797 Scenario Design for Managing Uncertainty 1 Credit (1-0-0) Defining a problem; risk and uncertainty; levels of uncertainty, commonly employed approaches to manage uncertainty; definition of a scenario; methods of constructing scenarios; the advantages of scenario analysis; examples of energy and climate scenarios; adaptive decision making; application across different domains. SpV798 Special Module on public policy in Transport and Infrastructure 1 Credit (1-0-0) Several infrastructure sectors will be examined in detail, including roads and highways, ports, shipping, inland waterways, green public transport, logistics and civil aviation, For each sector, the need for specific policy interventions, creation of the appropriate enabling environment, public private partnership arrangements, stakeholder responses, implementation issues and technological innovations will be examined. The precise contents of each offering may vary. SpV799 Special Module is policy Studies 1 Credit (1-0-0) For the particular domain, topic or issue chosen by the instructor (e.g. climate change, energy, agriculture etc.) the course would aim to familiarized students with key concepts in science and technology policy making. It would include studying various elements, actors and stages in the policy process and critical perspectives on unpacking and understanding methods of policy analysis for the particular issue chosen by the instructor.
