SBL733 : Introduction and Techniques: Immunometabolism

[edit]

Introduction: The role of metabolism in adaptive and innate immune response manifestation. Signalling pathways critical for metabolic balance: mT0R/akt, PPAr etc. Detailed understanding of individual immune cells and their metabolic dependencies. 1) Metabolism and macrophage function, 2) T cells and their effector functions linked to metabolism 3) Efferocytosis and influence of metabolic cycles on the Courses of Study 2024-2025 Biological Sciences 354process 4) Dendriti cells effector functions 5) subcellular metabolic compartmentalization and mitochondrial structure dynamics 6) Epigenetics and it's dependence on metabolic fluxes Diseases: 1) Cancer: Role of metabolism and metabolic behaviour of tumor immune cells, Therapeutics. 2) Aging and Senescence: Influence of diet of aging. Contribution of individual immune cells to the aging, Metabolic reversal of 3) Obesity/Diabetes and Atherosclerosis: lipid bodies, foam cells and their formation . efferocytosis in the development of the lifestyle disorders 4) Host-Pathogen interactions: understanding how bacterial and viral pathogens have learnt to hijack host metabolic networks to gain survival advantage. Methodologies and techniques: experimental design and methodologies to perform immunometabolism experiments. Untargeted', Targeted metabolomics, Trace metabolomics- sample prep and data analysis. Lipidomics and methodologies Experimental design and execution of Seahorse, ouroboros, Scenith. Hands on data analysis on Seahorse data sets.
