HSL652 : philosophy and Its Histories

The following theoretical approaches, topics and themes will be taught in the course: definitions of philosophy; traditions of thought/histories of philosophy; modern constructions of classifications of “west” and “east”; and their relation to actual multiple histories of philosophy; relations of philosophy to politics, religion, theology, science, and art, and to disciplines like philology, anthropology, aesthetics, history; “end of philosophy”.
