HSL631 : Study of an Author
[edit]The course will introduce students to the work of a single author who could be a novelist, poet, writer, philosopher, or a literary theorist. Students will learn how to examine a text through close reading, critical evaluation of oeuvre, situating the text in its socio- historical context. Examples of authors who may be considered in this course include: Sigmund Freud, Karl Marx, Franz Kafka, Walter Benjamin, Hannah Arendt, B.R. Ambedkar.
