pre-requisite for PG Course Contents: Introduction and review of power electronics converters; need for PWM technique; low switching frequency PWM techniques, Fourier analysis and waveform symmetries, current and torque harmonics analyses, SHE and optimal PWM, pulse number and switching energy losses; carrier based PWM techniques, sine-triangle PWM-, synchronisation, THI and bus-clamping PWM, current ripple analysis; space vector based PWM techniques, CSV PWM, equivalence with carrier based PWM, bus-clamping and advanced-bus-clamping PWM techniques, stator flux, current and torque ripples analyses; synchronised variable pulse number PWM schemes; vector control of IM and PMSM drives.
