Civil Engineering Forum is the primary student-led organization representing the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The organization is governed by a structured hierarchy comprising a General Secretary, a team of coordinators, and executives, all of whom operate under the mentorship of faculty advisors, including the Head of the Department and designated faculty presidents. The mission of the forum is to cultivate a holistic environment where theoretical engineering concepts are translated into practical understanding, while simultaneously fostering a strong sense of community and departmental pride among its members.
A cornerstone of the forum’s academic contribution is the Civil Seminar Series, which brings distinguished scholars and industry professionals to the campus to share insights on cutting-edge developments. These seminars cover a diverse range of specialized topics, such as the fracture behavior of steel fiber-reinforced concrete, the application of artificial intelligence in developing resilient smart cities, and the conceptual planning of major railway bridges across Indian rivers. By hosting experts from prestigious international institutions and veteran engineers from national infrastructure boards, the forum ensures that students remain informed about global trends in structural health, sustainable construction, and geotechnical engineering.
