BRCA, the Board of Recreational and Creative Activities, serves as the primary administrative and organizational body for cultural life at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. It is responsible for nurturing a vibrant ecosystem where artistic expression and creative exploration are integrated into the rigorous academic environment of the institute. As a student-led organization, BRCA acts as an umbrella for various specialized clubs, ensuring that the diverse interests of the student body—ranging from the performing arts to literary pursuits—are adequately supported and showcased. The board’s mission extends beyond mere event management; it seeks to build a sense of community and provide a platform for students to develop leadership skills, technical proficiency in their respective crafts, and a deep appreciation for cultural heritage. By facilitating a wide range of activities, the board ensures that the campus remains a hub for holistic development, balancing technical education with creative fulfillment.

The internal structure of BRCA is highly organized, reflecting its significant responsibilities within the campus ecosystem. It is led by a General Secretary and a Deputy General Secretary, who oversee the strategic vision and administrative functions of the board. Supporting them is a dedicated team of Executives, Coordinators, and Advisors who provide continuity, experience, and guidance for the board’s long-term goals. The board is further divided into twelve distinct clubs, each headed by its own Secretary. These clubs cover a broad spectrum of creative disciplines, including the Music Club, Dance Club, Dramatics Society, Fine Arts and Crafts Club, and the Literary Arts Residency. Other specialized units focus on niche areas such as Quizzing, Debating, Culinary Arts, Filmmaking and Photography, Hindi Samiti, and Comedy Arts. This decentralized yet cohesive structure allows each club to maintain its unique identity and specialized focus while contributing to the collective cultural output of the institute.

One of the most significant aspects of the annual calendar is the organization of flagship events that define the campus experience for both new and returning students. BRCA Night serves as a pivotal introductory event, particularly for incoming undergraduate and postgraduate students, offering a comprehensive showcase of all twelve clubs through live performances and exhibitions. This event is often preceded by the Tour of Stalls, a large-scale recruitment and orientation drive where students can interact with club representatives and explore various creative avenues. Furthermore, the board plays a central role in the execution of Rendezvous, the annual cultural festival of IIT Delhi, which is recognized as one of the largest of its kind in North India. Through Rendezvous, the board facilitates high-profile performances, competitive events, and interactive sessions that attract participants from across the country, thereby cementing the institute's reputation as a center for cultural excellence.

Inter-hostel competitions form the backbone of the competitive spirit fostered by the board, encouraging collaboration and healthy rivalry among the various residential halls. These competitions often involve complex, multi-disciplinary projects, such as the high-profile costume-making contests organized under the fine arts and crafts vertical. These events require teams to synthesize elements of mythology, futurism, and sustainability, often utilizing "best out of waste" principles to create intricate wearable art. Such activities are deeply conceptual, with students drawing inspiration from diverse sources like Aztec mythology, dystopian narratives, and classical philosophy to create characters that reflect themes of life, death, and technological evolution. These inter-hostel interactions are crucial for building camaraderie and ensuring that the cultural pulse of the campus remains active within the residential ecosystem, providing a creative outlet for students outside of their academic departments.

Beyond the confines of the campus, the board is responsible for representing the institute on the national stage, most notably at the Inter-IIT Cultural Meet. The board meticulously selects and trains a contingent of students to compete against other Indian Institutes of Technology in a wide array of categories, including design, filmmaking, music, and the literary arts. The preparation for these meets is intensive, involving dedicated teams for each discipline who work under the guidance of contingent leaders to refine their performances and projects. This external engagement allows students to benchmark their skills against the best talent in the country and fosters a sense of pride and institutional identity. The success of the contingent at these meets is a testament to the rigorous training and creative mentorship provided by the board throughout the academic year.

The board also places a strong emphasis on inclusivity and the continuity of its cultural legacy. Recognizing the unique needs of the postgraduate and doctoral community, a dedicated outreach wing ensures that these students are integrated into the cultural fabric of the institute through specialized orientation programs and events tailored to their schedules. Additionally, the board prioritizes the transition of leadership, holding formal ceremonies to honor outgoing secretaries and advisors while welcoming new members. This cycle of mentorship and succession ensures that the institutional knowledge and creative standards are preserved and enhanced year after year. By celebrating achievements and passing on responsibilities with a sense of pride, the board maintains a lasting impact on the student body, ensuring that the creative spirit of the institute continues to evolve and flourish.
