Besides your own kitchen, there are several food options available on campus.

Faculty lunch club is a good option for ‘home-cooked’ lunch -- simple vegetarian thalis including chapati, rice, dal, curry, etc., in the academic area. The menu is simple and as driven by the faculty. One does not have to commute to the guest house or residences, and orders can be placed a day in advance (sometimes very early morning orders can also be accepted), so that adequate amount of food can be prepared. The cost of the meal is lower than most places you can find as this is not a for-profit enterprise. (Call extension 6506 for more details.)

Guest house is also a source of food. Guests staying there have the option of meals, of course. They also cater for official occasions. Faculty members not staying at the guesthouse can also order dinner at the guesthouse in need. Guest house food has a larger variety than the faculty lunch club, and it is a good option for healthy food once in a while.

Eateries are spread out across campus, most with outdoor seating. These include:

• Joints serving tea, coffee, juice, and sundry snacks next to the library

• A franchise of Cafe Coffee Day is located in the main building at the ground floor (in what is also referred to as the exhibition hall).

These are commercial establishments but are subsidized on their rental costs. Hence, the prices tend to be lower than similar joints outside the campus. Beyond these, food delivery to campus by the usual suspects like Foodpanda, Zomato, and neighborhood restaurants is common and convenient.
